Pezzolesi GIS Mapping PresentationThe Finger Lakes Prevention Resource Center, based at the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence-Rochester Area, opened its doors on October 1, 2009. Prior to the start up of the FL PRC, NCADD-Ra hosted a day long workshop on Environmental Prevention presented by Dr. Michael Klitzner on September 30, 2009.
The goal of the Finger Lakes PRC is to:
On November 19, 2009, we hosted CADCA's "Back to Basics" full day workshop as an introduction to the CADCA framework for coalition development. The FL PRC conducted a preliminary assessment of partnering coalitions/partners asking attendees to self identify their strengths, challenges, priorities and preliminary identification of future potential technical assistance and training that might be beneficial to their coalitions. In follow-up, FL PRC staff created a menu of offerings that staff would be able to provide upon request of coalition partners.
- Identify existing coalitions
- Provide technical assistance and training to foster growth and sustainability of existing coalitions
- Provide technical assistance and training on the Strategic Prevention Framework components
- Where there are no coalitions, provide technical assistance and training to foster the development of community coalitions
